Los Angeles, May 23 (NationPress) Country music legend Dolly Parton expressed her long-standing desire to see a remake of the beloved 1980s comedy classic “9 to 5”. However, she has confirmed that she will not be appearing in the forthcoming film featuring Jennifer Aniston.

In the original movie, the country music star played the role of Doralee Rhodes, alongside Lily Tomlin as Violet Newstead and Jane Fonda as Judy Bernly.

“Jane, Lily, and I have been trying for years to develop a 9 to 5 sequel,” Parton shared with HuffPost, according to reports from people.com.

She further noted, “It never came to fruition.”

Now, more than 40 years later, a remake might finally be on the horizon, thanks to Aniston.

Although Aniston wishes to include all three original actresses in the new film, Parton expressed uncertainty about that happening.

The “Jolene” singer remarked, “We have no intentions of being involved. But I genuinely wish her success, as the script I reviewed was truly engaging and offers a fresh perspective that modernizes the workplace.”

“But the reality is, we’re all older now,” Parton added during her conversation with the outlet.

She continued, “We might not look our best on the big screen. All of us alongside those beautiful, youthful stars... so I’m unsure.”

Even though the original Rhodes actress will likely not grace the silver screen, she has offered her musical talents for the remake, considering her long-standing friendship with Aniston.

“I told her, you’re more than welcome to use my song ‘9 to 5’, and if you need additional songs or a reworked version of ‘9 to 5’, I’m happy to help,” Parton shared about her conversation with Aniston.

Parton is confident that “some wonderful person” will be selected to portray Rhodes.

“I truly would love to see the show, and I’d be thrilled to contribute some music for it,” Parton expressed.

This is not the only remake that Parton has significantly influenced in the past. She served as an uncredited producer for the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer and is now involved in the reboot through her production company, Sandollar Productions.

“I will be as engaged as necessary or as I can be. If they request, I might even propose some ideas for episodes,” Parton told HuffPost.
