Anna Faris Shares Emotional Joy in Rejoining Scary Movie Franchise
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, April 3 (NationPress) Anna Faris, the Hollywood luminary, expressed her overwhelming joy upon being invited by the Wayans brothers to reprise her beloved role as Cindy Campbell in the upcoming installment of the Scary Movie franchise.
The 49-year-old actress is set to return as Cindy Campbell in the sixth film of the parody series and was thrilled when Shawn and Marlon Wayans informed her that another film was in the works.
Faris reminisced: "In February of 2025, Marlon Wayans called me and said, 'We're getting the gang back together.' I was in disbelief. To experience this has been profoundly euphoric for me. I've been incredibly sentimental.
"I feel like I'm in a position to thank them genuinely, to tell Keenen Ivory Wayans, 'You’ve transformed my life.' It was a pivotal moment, contrasting my initial fears during the early days. This has been truly remarkable for me.”
“I doubt many get to enjoy such a life experience marked by this kind of beautiful reunion. The audience's eagerness for it is exhilarating. I never envisioned this for myself.”
Faris mentioned she received a "fantastic" script for Scary Movie, which is set for a June release, but she understands that the script will likely evolve during filming.
She stated, "With the Scary Movies, you receive a script, but it's known that alterations will follow. There’s always been a spirit of collaboration. You realize they will be adjusting things, tweaking some jokes, and incorporating your own. The script they sent me prior to finalizing details was fantastic."
Faris also disclosed that she will allow her 13-year-old son, Jack, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Pratt, to watch the film despite its crude humor.
When asked if Jack could see the movie, she said: "Yes. Is that terrible? I believe it's an integral part of it. He was on set. I wouldn’t advise every parent to let their 13-year-old watch it, but I think his situation is somewhat unique."
However, Faris had a different approach when taking her mother to see the original Scary Movie.
She recalled: "When I took my mom to the first one at the Lynwood Mall in Washington State, the theater was packed. It was so lively, and I placed her on the aisle, instructing, 'You must do as I say. When I say, 'Go to the bathroom,' just get up and go. Don’t ask questions.'"
