Los Angeles, July 24 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has expressed her desire to explore more serious and dramatic roles as she makes her comeback to the big screen in the body-swap comedy sequel Freakier Friday.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of Freakier Friday in Los Angeles, Lohan shared, "(I'm) working on a TV show with Hulu that I’m incredibly excited about and I’m eager to take on more serious, dramatic roles."
She acknowledged her fondness for romantic comedies, noting that this genre feels like her “home.”
“And I sense that is where my fans prefer to see me, but I’m interested in tackling projects that are different; perhaps something action-packed. I want to showcase a different side of myself,” she added.
Lohan reunites with co-star Jamie Lee Curtis for the sequel, promising that it is “bigger” than the original 2003 film Freaky Friday, according to femalefirst.co.uk.
She elaborated: "We have more narratives to share. It’s a four-way swap this time, featuring more music and a greater amount of physical comedy compared to the first one, which I absolutely adore. I relish any opportunity to channel my inner Lucille Ball."
Lohan was just 15 when filming began on the original movie and emphasized her close bond with Jamie, who played a significant maternal role in her life.
The Mean Girls star remarked, "She was there for me during a pivotal period when my mom was preoccupied with my siblings, and she became like another mother figure to me here in LA. This connection has kept us close over the years, and we’ve always maintained contact."
Curtis shared her intention for Lohan to feel "love" throughout the film's production.
Curtis reminisced, "From day one, I told her, ‘I want nothing from you except your own peace and serenity.’ I serve as a safe base; I have no expectations and don’t want her to feel any transactional pressure from me. My goal is for her to feel love."
