How Did Kaley Cuoco's Fiance Inspire Her to Accept the Role in 'Vanished'?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, Feb 8 (NationPress) The talented Hollywood actress Kaley Cuoco enjoys a strong support network. She has expressed that her fiancé is always there to uplift her.
In the miniseries 'Vanished', the 40-year-old actress plays Alice, a woman who discovers her boyfriend Tom's (played by Sam Claflin) hidden life. The series follows Alice as she copes with his disappearance during their trip to the south of France. Filmed in beautiful Marseille, Cuoco admits that it was her fiancé Tom Pelphrey who encouraged her to take on this challenging role.
She shared with 'People', “There were definitely weeks leading up to it when I kept second-guessing my decision. I thought, ‘I can't leave for two months.’”
Cuoco continued, “Then I would wake up thinking, ‘I could leave for a year.’ I was all over the place. My fiancé kept saying, ‘You have to go.’ He was incredibly supportive, assuring me, ‘Go, we’ve got things handled here. Everything will be fine.’”
According to 'People', at the time, Cuoco and Pelphrey had just welcomed their daughter Matilda in 2023, just before their engagement in August 2024, and she had recently turned two. Cuoco disclosed that her primary dilemma was the thought of leaving them behind.
She elaborated, “I wanted to bring them along, and Tom and I agreed on a plan. I said, ‘Let me arrive and see what the environment is like, and then we’ll decide.’ However, after spending just 24 hours in Marseille, despite loving it, I realized it wasn’t suitable for a two-year-old. It was too hectic and stressful. The home I was in was located on a mountain, and there was no place to walk. It simply wasn’t ideal.”
“What was beautiful about this experience is that I trusted my instincts and recognized, ‘This isn’t the right place for her.’ My whole family understood, and I could focus on immersing myself in this new opportunity for a few weeks, knowing everything was managed back home,” she added.
