On Wednesday, the Indian Air Force targeted the terrorist locations without entering Pakistani airspace. The Pakistan military was completely taken by surprise as the Indian strikes commenced around 1:44 a.m.
The terrorist sites affected by the Indian operations included Muridke near Lahore, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The targeted infrastructure was linked to the planning and execution of attacks against India. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) announced at 1:44 a.m. that a total of nine sites were hit during 'Operation Sindoor' by the Indian Armed Forces.
'Operation Sindoor' was initiated 14 days following the terrorist incident at the tourist destination of Baisaran in Pahalgam, where suspects are believed to have connections with Pakistan. Muridke and Bahawalpur are known to house the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), with its chief commander, Masood Azhar, reportedly hiding there along with senior commanders of the group.
Reports indicated that multiple loud explosions were heard in Muzaffarabad City in PoJK, where various terrorist organizations maintain training camps and launch facilities. Following the explosions, Muzaffarabad experienced a blackout. Additionally, Kotli is known to host terror infrastructure, including training camps and launch pads.
