Kapil Sharma Addresses Claims of Insulting Atlee

Mumbai, Dec 17 (NationPress) Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma has addressed the claims of insulting producer-director Atlee on his streaming sketch comedy show ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. The most recent episode of the show, which included Atlee, Bollywood star Varun Dhawan, and actress Wamiqa Gabbi, ignited a stir over Kapil supposedly mocking Atlee for his appearance.

In response to a clip from the episode shared by a user on X, it was noted, “Kapil Sharma subtly insults Atlee's looks? Atlee responds like a boss: Don't judge by appearance, judge by the heart.”

Kapil replied to this comment, stating that he never made any remarks about appearance during the episode. He wrote, “Dear sir, can you pls explain me where n when I talked about looks in this video? pls don’t spread hate on social media, thank you. (guys watch n decide by yourself, don’t follow any body’s tweet like a sheep).”

Earlier, Varun, who is preparing for his upcoming theatrical film ‘Baby John’ produced by Atlee, teased Kapil Sharma by referencing the infamous altercation between Kapil and fellow comedian-actor Sunil Grover. The promo of the series displayed Sunil telling Varun, “You look like an original Baby John.” Kapil added as he told Sunil, “You're the duplicate. Everyone else is original here.” Varun picked up on the moment, saying, “I don't understand one thing. Whenever you're in the airport setting, why do you always fight?”

Meanwhile, ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ centers around Kapil Sharma and his ensemble of comedians, which includes Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, and Rajiv Thakur. The format of the show is primarily similar to his previous shows, designed for the mass audience on the streaming platform.

The lavish set of the show is a visual spectacle, set against the backdrop of an extravagant airport terminal. Archana Puran Singh serves as the permanent guest of the show.
