Kapil expressed his admiration for Shreya Ghoshal's talent, affectionately stating, “Indian Idol toh saalon se chal raha hai, lekin Shreya ji, aap gaye toh noor aa gaya hain.”
The atmosphere became vibrant as Kapil and Shreya performed a captivating duet of the classic “Tum Aa Gaye Ho, Noor Aa Gaya Hai” from the 1975 film “Aandhi,” featuring Sanjeev Kumar and Suchitra Sen, directed by Gulzar.
Kapil revealed that singing alongside Shreya Ghoshal was a dream-come-true experience for him.
He humorously noted that this special moment had “absolutely made his day,” adding that performing with Shreya has now made him “officially the winner of Indian Idol.”
Discussing “Aandhi,” it was rumored that the film was inspired by the life of the then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her relationship with her estranged spouse, although it was actually the appearance that drew parallels to Tarkeshwari Sinha and Indira Gandhi.
The plot revolves around an unexpected reunion of a separated couple after many years, where the wife, Aarti Devi, now a prominent politician, encounters her husband at a hotel he manages during an election.
Currently, Kapil is busy promoting his film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2. This movie is set to revive the hilarity, featuring Kapil’s character entangled in an even more vibrant and multicultural marital chaos.
