Mumbai, April 11 (NationPress) Renowned director Karan Johar has spoken out against Caroline Dyer, the great-granddaughter of General Dyer, for her thoughtless remarks concerning the victims of the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Karan countered Caroline's comments stating, "Not just as an Indian, not merely as a humanitarian, but like anyone who possesses even a hint of empathy and humanity within themselves, it will infuriate you. I refuse to soften my words, I will not be diplomatic, and I certainly will not skirt around the issue when I declare—how absurd was her statement and how dare she? She referred to the thousands of innocent lives lost as looters? They were merely people gathered for what was supposed to be a significant day of Baisakhi.

In his impassioned response, Karan expressed, "What kind of love can exist in your heart when your actions are steeped in hate? The reality that she exists in her own fabricated world, a delusion, is disheartening. I don’t know her, I have not met her, nor do I wish to. The very utterance of her statements ignites my anger on a humanitarian level. It boiled my blood to witness that video, especially given her contempt for one of the most significant genocides in our nation's and the world's history.

KJo went on to demand an apology from Caroline, asserting, "Her disdain only intensifies my anger and my desire for an apology."

Recently, Caroline referred to the Jallianwala Bagh victims as "looters," insisting that "history is history" and we must accept it. In defense of her great-grandfather, she claimed, "General Dyer was a very honorable man, well-regarded by those Indians who spoke three or four Indian languages, which was uncommon at the time."

It is important to highlight that April 14, 2025, will commemorate the 106th anniversary of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
