He posted a collection of photos on Instagram, with the opening image featuring Karan relaxing on a wooden deck, gazing at the stunning turquoise waters. He is dressed in a lightweight white linen outfit, complemented by a chunky wooden bead necklace and beige sunglasses.
Another photo captures him posing stylishly on the same deck, with one hand in his pocket. A different image shows him leaning against a white wall, with the ocean as a backdrop, dressed in a black and white designer shirt.
In his caption, Karan expressed: “Sun… Sea….solace….. my initial trip to the Maldives and these are merely some candid (yeah right!!!) shots where I was caught off guard… A huge thank you to @jumeiraholhahaliisland @jumeirah for the exceptional hospitality and warmth; what an amazing property! I can't wait to return….”
On March 20, Karan announced that he is set to introduce a new filmmaker through his production company. He shared a detailed note mentioning that the director dedicated around 4-5 years to the project, overcoming delays caused by the pandemic.
He noted, “When I started producing films (once I joined Dharma as an active part of the company) in 2003 with Kal Ho Naa Ho - the goal was to empower filmmakers and storytellers...to give back. We had successes and failures, but the intention was always to share stories and films we believed in. The aim was either to entertain, seek recognition or simply enjoy the cinema.”
Karan proudly stated that he is ready to present the 24th debut filmmaker he is bringing into Hindi cinema.
“I seldom write notes before a film's release, but few films energize and inspire me the way this one has. Our collaborative producer and debut director have been on this film's journey for 4 years.”
Praising the director, Karan remarked that he “dedicated himself to working tirelessly on his film, tackling pandemic-induced delays and other unexpected challenges.”
“I am inspired by the ensemble of actors and technicians who provided the film and the team with unwavering support and love. One cannot predict commercial success, BUT what I can wholeheartedly say is that this film stands as one of Dharma's proudest productions. I assert this as both a filmmaker and an audience member.”
