Kartik Aaryan to Portray a Mama's Boy in Karan Johar's Upcoming Film Following Their 'Dostana 2' Dispute

Mumbai, Dec 25 (NationPress) Filmmaker Karan Johar has unveiled his latest project, “Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri,” starring Kartik Aaryan in the principal role.
On Christmas, KJo shared the exciting news on his Instagram, announcing the forthcoming romantic film with the caption, “Wrapped in romance, here comes the best Christmas gift ever from us to you! Starring Kartik Aaryan - Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri is set to hit cinemas in 2026. Directed by Sameer Vidwans.
Aaryan also updated his Instagram with the message, “Tumhara RAY aa raha hai RUMI Mummy ki khaayi hui kasam, yeh Mumma’s boy poori karke he rehta hai. Super excited to return to my fav genre, Rom-com. #TuMeriMainTeraMainTeraTuMeri…The biggest love story coming to cinemas in 2026.”
In a quirky promotional video, Kartik introduces his character, Ray—a self-proclaimed mama's boy with a complicated dating past. He reveals having had three girlfriends, each enduring a difficult breakup. Determined to change his luck, Ray pledges to make his fourth relationship thrive, no matter the challenges.
The creative minds behind “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” and “Satyaprem Ki Katha” have joined forces to bring forth the most anticipated love story of 2026. “Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri” will be produced by Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures, with Sameer Vidwans at the helm. The film is co-produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Shareen Mantri Kedia, and Kishor Arora. This eagerly awaited romantic tale is scheduled for release in 2026.
The rift between Kartik and Karan became a hot topic in the industry, especially after their much-anticipated film “Dostana 2” was shelved. However, after a phase of tension and distance, the two have chosen to mend their relationship and work together on a fresh project.
This forthcoming film signifies the resolution of their disputes following Kartik’s controversial departure from “Dostana 2.” They finally reconciled earlier this year.
