Los Angeles, June 9 (NationPress) Hollywood icons Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, who share a deep friendship, are set to reunite in an exciting revival of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot.

Winter discussed this fascinating project during the 2025 Tony Awards in New York City, where both stars were present to hand out an award.

He shared with people.com that he and Reeves have always wanted to collaborate again after their beloved Bill & Ted films, having known each other for many years. He emphasized how fitting it is for a play about two long-time acquaintances, remarking that Keanu had a unique, inspired idea that transformed into a reality for them both.

As for what audiences can anticipate, Winter noted, “I think every time the play is done, it’s different, because of who’s playing it. It’s very, very personal, and so we’re bringing ourselves to it.”

The production of Waiting for Godot will kick off preview performances at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre on September 13, culminating in an official opening on September 28. This limited-engagement performance is slated to run until January 4, 2026.

In his Broadway debut, Reeves will portray Estragon, while Winter, who appeared in the 1977 production of The King and I and 1979’s Peter Pan, will take on the role of Vladimir in this celebrated existential piece.

Reeves and Winter grew close during the filming of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, a sci-fi comedy that follows two time-traveling friends as they meet historical figures for a history project.

They reprised their roles as Ted Logan and Bill Preston in 1991 and 2020 for the second and third installments of this cult-classic series.

With a career spanning four decades, Reeves has garnered numerous accolades, particularly known for his roles in action films. He was ranked as the fourth-greatest actor of the 21st century in 2020 and recognized as one of the 100 most influential people globally in 2022.
