Mumbai, Sep 11 (NationPress) The eagerly anticipated film “Good Fortune”, featuring Keanu Reeves and directed by Aziz Ansari, is poised for its theatrical debut in India on October 17.

In a recent interview about his role as Gabriel, Reeves shared, “Gabriel believed he could make a significant impact. He thought he could locate a lost soul, utilize his power to reveal the future to them, and ultimately, they would gain a deeper understanding of their own lives.”

He continued, “However, he soon realized, through his human experience, that none of us are truly alone; the essence of our journey involves our friends, loved ones, and the connections we forge that bring meaning and authenticity to our existence.”

Discussing Reeves' involvement in the project, Ansari remarked, “When Keanu Reeves' name surfaced, I was taken aback because he is such a prominent figure.”

“After meeting him, I instantly recognized that he had to portray this role. Once Keanu showed interest in the character, it really came to life and evolved into an endearing, distinctive personality with a compelling arc throughout the film.”

The film's synopsis presents a well-intentioned yet comically clumsy angel named Gabriel who interferes in the lives of a struggling gig worker and a prosperous venture capitalist. What starts as a celestial lesson on the limitations of wealth quickly unravels, leading to unforeseen consequences even for the divine.

The cast also includes Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh.

Produced by Aziz Ansari, Anthony Katagas, and Alan Yang, with executive producers Aniz Adam Ansari, Jonathan McCoy, Christopher Woodrow, and Connor DiGregorio, this film showcases an ensemble of comedy’s top talents behind and in front of the camera.

Good Fortune premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6.

PVR INOX Pictures is set to bring Lionsgate's comedy Good Fortune to Indian screens on October 17.
