Kerry Washington Shares Wisdom with Her Younger Self: Embrace the Journey

Los Angeles, Dec 3 (NationPress) Hollywood star Kerry Washington expressed a desire to have truly enjoyed her rise to fame as she shared the guidance she would offer her younger self.

The 47-year-old actress was celebrated with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in honor of her impressive career that spans over three decades. She remarked that she would advise her younger self to alleviate the stress surrounding her future and simply enjoy the journey.

"I would tell her to try to embrace the journey and to have faith that everything is going to turn out alright in the end," she revealed during an interview with the US TV show 'Extra', according to femalefirst.co.uk.

She acknowledged that she sometimes felt overwhelmed.

"I think at times we become so consumed with worry over how life will unfold that we forget to pause, take a deep breath, and appreciate where we are in each moment!" shared the Emmy Award-winning actress, who gained worldwide fame through the political drama series 'Scandal'.

"This star represents all of us just as much as it represents me, because when I stand here and gaze at this star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I recognize it’s only possible thanks to every director I’ve collaborated with, every actor I’ve had the pleasure to perform alongside, every fan who has tuned in, live-tweeted, or streamed a show, or visited a movie theater, and every single crew member I’ve worked with…"

"We all have made this achievement possible, so I view this star as a symbol of immense love, support, and generosity from countless individuals," Washington expressed.

Washington made her debut in feature films with the drama Our Song. Since then, she has taken on diverse roles in films such as Ray, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Last King of Scotland, I Think I Love My Wife, Mother and Child, For Colored Girls, and Django Unchained.
