Mumbai, Sep 30 (NationPress) Director Shashank Khaitan has shared insights into the creative inspiration behind Varun Dhawan's character in the much-anticipated film “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.”
In a recent interview with IANS, Khaitan explained that while the character is influenced by real-life individuals, many traits are infused with a humorous spin. He hinted at Varun's unique and quirky behaviors that audiences can expect to see when the film debuts on October 2.
When questioned about the origins of his cultured and emotionally rich leading man, Khaitan stated, “I often draw inspiration from real people I encounter. Certain traits resonate with me, and I weave those into my characters. However, I must clarify that this film doesn't exactly embody culture; it’s more of a playful jest. Much of Varun's portrayal strays far from being cultured, and audiences will witness that from October 2nd.”
The director also discussed his casting decisions and shared his experiences of collaborating once more with Varun Dhawan. “To be candid, there was never really an option when it came to Varun. We originated this story together—it was our concept from the beginning. It would have felt strange to take this idea elsewhere. (chuckles) Honestly, we love working together. This is our third project, but it feels like we’ve spent much longer creatively collaborating. Thus, when this story was conceived, both lead roles were evident choices for me. Now that the film is ready to release in just a few days, I genuinely believe we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect cast,” Khaitan expressed.
Currently, Shashank Khaitan’s latest film “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari” features a talented lineup including Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Akshay Oberoi, and Maniesh Paul. Set against the lively backdrop of a grand Indian wedding, the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on Dussehra, October 2, 2025.
