New Delhi, April 11 (NationPress) Actress Kritika Kamra identifies as a “realist” and shares that for her, “happiness lies in the small things.”

When asked what title she would choose if her life were a film, Kritika remarked to IANS, “Thoda hai Thode ki Zaroorat Hai.” She reflects, “I believe this encapsulates my life story. As a realist, I find joy in the little things. I’m thankful for what I currently possess while also yearning for more.”

She continued, “Life is a journey between what you have and what you aspire to achieve. The journey thus far has been quite fascinating.”

Kritika first garnered attention for her portrayal of Arohi Sharma in the series 'Kitani Mohabbat Hai.' She subsequently appeared in shows like 'Kuch Toh Log Kahenge,' 'Reporters,' and 'Prem Ya Paheli - Chandrakanta.'

In addition, the actress participated in the dance competition 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7' and displayed her skills in productions like 'Tandav' and 'Bambai Meri Jaan.' The 35-year-old made her cinematic debut with 'Mitron,' which hit the screens in 2018, and is set to appear in 'For Your Eyes Only' alongside Prateek Gandhi.

When discussing the challenges of portraying a character vastly different from herself versus one that mirrors her own personality, Kritika stated to IANS, “An ideal character is one that possesses relatable traits and emotions yet lives a life entirely dissimilar to yours. I aim for roles that compel me to envision experiences I haven't encountered…”

“Experiences I’ve never had or emotions I’ve never felt. However, it is essential to share some core traits with the character. Well-crafted characters always possess such elements. You must discover some history, feeling, or principle—be it positive or negative—that resonates with you, allowing you to connect. The remainder unfolds during the performance.”

She added, “This encapsulates the beauty and challenge that comes with a well-written character, and it’s profoundly gratifying.”

Recently, the actress appeared in “Gyaarah Gyaarah,” a fantasy thriller series adapted from the Korean drama “Signal.” She is set to star in National Award-winning director Nagraj Manjule’s upcoming project “Matka King.”

'Matka King' explores the complex world of Matka gambling that originated in Mumbai, featuring Vijay Varma in the lead role as the Matka King.
