Actress Krystle D'Souza and co-winner Rida Tharana have emerged as the champions of The Traitors Season 2, outmanoeuvring all the Innocents in a finale that delivered one of the most unexpected twists of the season. Krystle, who played as a Traitor from the very first day, says the experience was far more psychologically demanding than it appeared from the outside.

Krystle on the mental game of deception

'Being a Traitor sounds glamorous until you actually have to lie every day to people you genuinely like,' Krystle said. Having been a Traitor from the outset, she quickly realised that over-explaining or getting defensive would expose her. 'So I learnt kab bolna hai, kab chup rehna hai, and when to just smile and sit back,' she added.

Krystle survived multiple rounds of suspicion, open accusations, and being thrown under the bus by fellow contestants. She even invoked a memorable line directed at host Karan Johar — 'Boo ke baad main hi yahaan ki billi hoon' — and consistently landed on her feet through the season's most turbulent moments.

How the season unfolded

Twenty-one players entered the palace when the show began. Over the course of the season, contestants navigated a series of eliminations, false accusations, and the show's signature 'Circles of Shaq' — the tense ritual that decided who stayed and who was voted out. By the finale, the remaining players were Mallika Sherawat, Sahil Salathia, Dalip Tahil, Shalini Passi, Krystle D'Souza, and Rida Tharana — each convinced they had seen through the season's biggest deceptions.

When Krystle and Rida finally revealed themselves as Traitors, the moment brought their unlikely partnership full circle, proving that the real deception had been hiding in plain sight all along.

Rida Tharana: From reluctant Innocent to Traitor champion

Rida's journey was markedly different. She entered the game intending to play as an Innocent, believing she lacked the temperament to deceive. 'If someone had told me on Day One that I would end this game as a Traitor, I would have laughed,' she said. It was reportedly being blackmailed within the game that forced her hand and set her on the path to becoming a Traitor.

'As a Traitor, I had a clear roadmap to the finale, but the hardest part was dealing with the guilt of playing against people I genuinely cared about,' Rida said. 'I gave my best as an Innocent, gave my best as a Traitor, and left the finale to the universe.' She described her arc — walking in as an Innocent, becoming a Traitor, and walking out a winner — as an ending she could not have scripted.
