Lisa Kudrow Shares Her Experience of Returning to Work Just 10 Days Post-Delivery
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, April 8 (NationPress) Hollywood star Lisa Kudrow recently disclosed that she returned to her professional duties just 10 days after welcoming her son into the world.
During a conversation with CBS's Tracy Smith, the Friends actress, aged 62, shared that she was back at work shortly after the birth of her son, Julian, whom she has with her husband, Michel Stern, according to reports from People magazine.
At that time, Kudrow was portraying Laura Sobel in the movie Analyze This. She reflected, "Looking back, I had just given birth to my son, and 10 days later, I was in a meeting... for Analyze This. My agent assured me, 'You’ll be fine. You're not filming until July, and it's now May. It's not a big deal.'"
She continued, "In that meeting, Billy Crystal remarked, 'You look fantastic. Are you sure you can handle this? When did you have your baby?' When I told him, he responded, 'Alright, we start filming Thursday.'"
According to People, Kudrow initially believed she'd be filming in July but had to travel to New York much earlier to shoot her scenes.
"I recall my husband's parents were visiting from France, and my parents were there too. Everyone around me said, 'Of course, you can do it.' I replied, 'But it's not right. I have a newborn,'" she explained, recounting the advice she received at that time. "'But a baby nurse will accompany you to care for the baby. The baby won't remember anything. It's fine,' they said."
Reflecting on her experience, the actress stated that it was an 'insane' choice. "It’s truly insane," she admitted, asserting that she would never undertake something like that again.
Recently, the actress made a rare appearance on the red carpet with her family at the premiere of The Comeback season 3. Last March, she attended the event along with her husband of 30 years and their son at The Wallis Center in Beverly Hills, California. This red carpet moment was particularly significant for Kudrow, as her son has a recurring role in the new season of the sitcom.
