Mumbai, April 20 (NationPress) Actor Kunal Kapoor is gearing up to feature in the much-anticipated heist drama, "Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins," alongside Saif Ali Khan. Given Kunal's impressive filmography that includes numerous ensemble projects, he finds himself sharing the screen with a talented cast once more. Yet, Kunal expressed that he has never felt overshadowed in multi-starrer films.
Reflecting on his selective role choices, he stated, "For me, acting has never been a contest of egos. Whether in a solo venture or among a collective cast, what truly counts is the enduring impact my character has on the audience. I've worked alongside major stars throughout my career, yet I have never felt inferior as each actor contributes their unique essence to the project."
Speaking about "Jewel Thief," the 'Rang De Basanti' actor remarked, "In 'Jewel Thief,' there were two significant factors: the opportunity to collaborate with talented individuals like Saif Ali Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Siddharth Anand, and the fact that every character in this narrative holds a distinct voice and place in the story. Ultimately, I believe that your craft and character should resonate, not your prominence on the poster."
In "Jewel Thief," Kunal will portray a fierce cop, adding depth to the thrilling storyline alongside Saif Ali Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Nikita Dutta. While Saif and Jaideep embody a con artist and a crime lord, respectively, Kunal takes on the role of a relentless cop, thwarting their attempts to seize the elusive diamond known as The African Red Sun.
This project boasts cinematography by Jishnu Bhattacharjee and editing by Aarif Sheikh.
Directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, "Jewel Thief" is produced by Siddharth Anand.
It is set to begin streaming on Netflix on April 25.
