Los Angeles, March 24 (NationPress) The legendary director Christopher Nolan is about to unveil a film as grand as it gets. This time, it's a reinterpretation of the timeless classic 'The Odyssey', showcasing a star-studded ensemble of Hollywood's finest.

However, actor John Leguizamo reveals that despite the film's massive budget, Nolan manages to create an atmosphere reminiscent of independent cinema, as reported by 'Variety'.

“You know, the thing is, he has a huge budget, but he approaches it like an indie film because he’s not constrained by committee decisions or studio mandates,” Leguizamo shared in a recent interview on MSNBC’s 'Morning Joe'. “He operates like an indie filmmaker, just with an enormous budget.”

In 'The Odyssey', Matt Damon takes on the role of Odysseus, joined by a talented cast that includes Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Robert Pattinson, Benny Safdie, and Jon Bernthal.

According to 'Variety', the film is described as “a mythic action epic shot around the globe using cutting-edge Imax film technology. This adaptation brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax screens for the very first time,” as stated by Universal.

Nolan’s previous works encompass major blockbusters like 'Oppenheimer', 'Interstellar', and 'Inception'. “I’m attracted to large-scale projects because I am aware of how fleeting the chance to gather such resources is,” Nolan remarked in an interview with Time in 2024. “Many filmmakers would give anything to have the resources I am able to assemble, and I feel a responsibility to utilize them in the most innovative and effective way possible.”

Despite his focus on large-scale projects, Nolan appreciates independent cinema, mentioning films like 'Aftersun' and 'Past Lives' as smaller-scale works he recently enjoyed.

Cillian Murphy, who starred in Nolan’s last film 'Oppenheimer', has praised the director’s collaborative style and his openness to experimentation with actors.
