Mumbai, Sep 24 (NationPress) Acclaimed filmmaker and producer Mahesh Bhatt, preparing for the premiere of his latest production ‘Tu Meri Poori Kahani’, emphasized that we are currently experiencing the era of reverse mentoring.
In an interview with IANS preceding the film's release, he noted that both his peers and the newer generation of cinematic talent have a wealth of insights to gain from the youth.
He shared, “In this project, I was fortunate to have two exceptional collaborators: the director Suhrita Das and the lyricist Shweta Bothra. I regard Shweta as the Shailendra of her generation. Her writing reflects a depth and simplicity reminiscent of Shailendra, yet it is distinctly her own.”
He further expressed that to achieve excellence and contribute meaningfully, it is crucial to heed the critical and appreciative feedback from the younger generation, as their insights are often both calculated and precise.
He stated, “The actors involved are also fresh faces. This era is incredibly vibrant. I frequently remind my peers, who are of my age, that we can learn immensely from the youth. This is the time for reverse mentoring. If we believe our role is solely to instruct, we must pause and listen, as life conveys significant messages through their perspectives, and ignoring them renders us deaf to valuable insights.”
“I was lucky to have Shweta contribute immensely to my story. The entire cast is captivating, and they infused their innocence and passion, creating a rich cinematic experience,” he added.
‘Tu Meri Poori Kahani’ is scheduled for release on September 26, 2025.
