Chennai, Feb 12 (NationPress) The production team behind director Mahesh Narayanan’s highly anticipated thriller 'Patriot', starring Malayalam cinema icons Mammootty and Mohanlal, has unveiled a Behind The Scenes (BTS) video featuring clips recorded during their shoot in Sri Lanka.

Actor Mohanlal took to his X account to share, "#Patriot Behind The Scenes: Sri Lanka. In Cinemas Worldwide from April 23, 2026."

The BTS footage showcases scenes captured at an airbase, bustling with helicopters, planes, and fighter jets. It also offers brief glimpses of Mohanlal and Mammootty together at the airbase, marking their collaboration after an 18-year hiatus.

One intriguing shot features Fahadh Faasil seated in a fighter jet cockpit, receiving insights on the controls from a professional. Notably, Fahadh Faasil has recently revealed that he portrays the antagonist in the film.

During a recent event, he declared, "I am the villain in Patriot" while also confirming that a sequel to his hit film 'Aavesham' is in the works. "Yes, Aavesham 2 is coming. It’s a frequent question I encounter. Hopefully, we will see it in 2027 or 2028," he stated.

For those unaware, Patriot is slated for a global release on April 23 this year.

The production team has announced that Mohanlal has finished dubbing his parts for the film.

On the film's official Instagram, they recently shared a clip of Mohanlal giving a thumbs up after completing his dubbing, captioning it, "Some voices do not just speak; they define moments. Mohanlal has completed dubbing for Patriot. In Cinemas Worldwide from April 23. #Mohanlal #AntoJoseph #AntoJosephFilmCompany #Patriot #MaheshNarayanan."

On January 4 this year, the filmmakers announced that principal photography had concluded, stating, "That’s a wrap. Blood, sweat, belief. #PATRIOT marches on. See you on the big screen."

A BTS video featuring all the stars on set was also shared on this occasion.

The film has generated immense excitement ever since its announcement and also includes renowned actors Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Revathy alongside the two superstars.

A teaser released last year heightened anticipation among fans and film enthusiasts.

The teaser opens with a voiceover stating, "I remember a time when this nation was under the control of these two. Together. Over the years, what they earned was not just followers, but faith and trust."

A sequence of captivating and intense scenes follows, with Mammootty stating, "They are going to bring social score to people." We then hear Mohanlal, presumably portraying an army general, saying, "There are three of us. Do you think you can stop us?"

The teaser hints at a program named Periscope, with Kunchacko Boban playing a character called Daniel.

Nayanthara queries, "This program that is part of the student laptop initiative. Is it akin to Periscope?" Another voice asks, "Is this program surveilling them secretly?" The teaser concludes with Mammootty challenging, "Great Indian traitor... or Patriot?"

Overall, the teaser suggests a narrative focused on a group of socially conscious individuals striving to prevent an illegal governmental attempt at citizen surveillance.
