The Shahi Snan is a pivotal ceremony of the Kumbh Mela, recognized as its most crucial event. This sacred occasion features elaborate processions of saints, ascetics, and their devotees making their way to the ghats. January 14 marks the inaugural Royal Shahi Snan on Makar Sankranti, symbolizing the commencement of this blessed bathing ritual.
In the meantime, a few weeks prior, Mamta Kulkarni shared an emotional video on social media, reflecting on her lengthy absence from home. She recounted her departure from India in 2000, and after 24 years, she is finally set to return to her homeland in 2024.
In the video, Kulkarni shared, “Hey everyone, this is Mamta Kulkarni, and I just landed in India, Bombay, ‘Aamchi Mumbai’ after 25 years. I’m feeling quite nostalgic about leaving India in 2000 and arriving back in 2024. I am truly overwhelmed and emotional; I find it hard to express my feelings. Before landing, I looked out at my country from above for nearly 25 years, and it brought tears to my eyes. As I stepped out of the Mumbai International Airport, I was filled with emotion.”
