Mumbai, May 8 (NationPress) Actress Mandana Karimi, originally from Iran, expressed her discontent with India in a recent outburst. Known for her role in the Anil Kapoor film ‘Thar’, she opted for India to pursue her modelling and acting career, as opportunities in her home country were limited due to the conservative regime. Her choice has been met with admiration from many Indians.
Using the Stories feature on her Instagram, Mandana shared a lengthy message following India’s pre-dawn strikes on terror camps in Pakistan. Although the story has since vanished, a screenshot circulated online captures her sentiments.
In her post, she stated, “The world is ablaze, India bombed Pakistani Kashmir, killing civilians and children moments ago. Israel just took out a family in Khan Yunis, and America struck Yemen, resulting in civilian deaths yesterday.”
She added, “These fatalities are a result of genocidal regimes that have learned they can commit war crimes without accountability while the world remains silent. Be it Zionism, Hindutva fascism, or American exceptionalism, imperialism continues to wreak havoc.”
While New Delhi asserted that their strikes targeted terror infrastructure specifically, Mandana alleged that civilians were harmed in the attacks. Her statements came into question when internationally recognized terrorist Masood Azhar confirmed that family members were among those killed, undermining her claims.
Indian forces successfully targeted nine terror sites across various regions of Pakistan. Taken by surprise by the retaliation, Pakistan scrambled its jets as India launched surface-to-surface missiles. The pilots from both nations engaged in one of the longest aerial dogfights in history. Pakistan claimed to have downed five Indian jets, a statement India has not substantiated.
Interestingly, Iran, Mandana’s homeland, had previously offered to facilitate peace talks between India and Pakistan before India’s counteraction on May 7, which was prompted by a terrorist attack that resulted in 26 fatalities in Pahalgam last month.
