Manoj Muntashir Shukla Issues Stern Warning to Jio Studios

Mumbai, Jan 8 (NationPress) Lyricist Manoj Muntashir has issued a stern warning following the oversight by the producers of the Akshay Kumar-led film 'Skyforce' in crediting him for the song 'Maaye.'

Muntashir took to X, previously known as Twitter, on Tuesday to express his frustration towards Jio Studios, Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, and Saregama Global. He stated that if the situation is not rectified, he will formally disown the song and will consider legal action.

He stated: “Please note @jiostudios, @MaddockFilms, @saregamaglobal, this song is not just performed and composed but also written by someone who has dedicated all his blood and sweat to it.”

He further emphasized: “Removing the writer's name from the opening credits reflects complete disrespect for the craft and the creative community by the producers.”

Muntashir concluded with a warning: “If this is not corrected promptly, including the primary song releasing tomorrow, I will disown the song and ensure my voice is heard through legal channels. Shame.”

On Tuesday, a teaser for 'Maaye' was shared by Jio Studios on X, highlighting singer B Praak and music by Tanishk Bagchi. However, Muntashir's name was conspicuously absent. The film's team did tag the lyricist in the caption.

Maaye - An ode to the bravehearts who sacrificed everything to defend their motherland. Presenting #Maaye, The Anthem of Heroes, out tomorrow. #SkyForce releasing in cinemas this Republic Week, on 24th January 2025,” read the caption, alongside the cast and crew tags.

Concerning ‘Sky Force’, this historical war film is directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, with Jyoti Deshpande under Jio Studios.

The film features the debut of Veer Pahariya and stars Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur.

It narrates the story of India's retaliatory attack on the Sargodha airbase of Pakistan during the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965, recognized as India's first and most lethal airstrike. The film is scheduled for release on January 24, just before Republic Day.
