Chennai, Sep 26 (NationPress) Renowned actor and producer Vishnu Vishal, who has a background in cricket, has reminisced about his blockbuster movie 'Jeeva' on its 11th anniversary. He shared his thoughts on his X timeline, stating, "Perhaps I stepped away from cricket, but cricket has never stepped away from me... #Jeeva will forever hold a special place in my heart and career. Celebrating 11 years today. #11YearsOfJeeva."

The sports drama, which delved into the politics within the cricket world, was helmed by Suseenthiran and starred Vishnu Vishal alongside Sri Divya.

With stunning cinematography by Madhi and a captivating score from D Imman, the film was a massive success, featuring Vishnu Vishal as a gifted cricketer striving for a place in the national team.

Currently, Vishnu Vishal is actively engaged in filming the sequel to the hit movie 'Gatta Kusthi', directed by Chella Ayyavu. Reports indicate that production is underway in Pollachi and nearby regions.

For those unaware, the sequel's project commenced with a traditional pooja ceremony earlier this month in Chennai. Filming is planned across Ambasamudram and Pollachi in Tamil Nadu, as well as Palakkad in Kerala.

Entitled Gatta Kusthi 2, the sequel will reunite the same leading actors from the original film and is being co-produced by Vishnu Vishal Studioz and Vels Film International.

A teaser released by the filmmakers hints that the sequel will be just as entertaining as its predecessor.

Sources reveal that the follow-up will continue to explore themes from the first film, which concluded satisfactorily.

This sequel, too, will be a sports drama that humorously addresses everyday domestic issues, ensuring it remains a complete commercial entertainer.

The lead actors Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi will reprise their roles, along with Karunas, Kali Venkat, Munishkanth, and Gajaraj, all of whom contributed significantly to the first film. Karunakaran is also set to play an essential role in the sequel.

Directed by Chella Ayyavu, the sequel will feature cinematography by K M Bhaskaran and music by Sean Roldan. Barath Vikraman will handle the editing, while S. Jayachandran is responsible for the art direction. Stunts will be choreographed by Murugan and dances by Baba Bhaskar.
