Los Angeles, April 23 (NationPress) Actress Millie Bobby Brown was unable to attend the Broadway premiere of ‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow’ at the Marquis Theatre in New York.
The star, renowned for her portrayal of Eleven in Matt and Ross Duffer’s acclaimed series since its launch in 2016, was engaged in filming her upcoming project, ‘Enola Holmes 3’, as reported by ‘People’ magazine.
The event saw an impressive array of attendees, including many actors from the Netflix series such as Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Jamie Campbell Bower, Cara Buono, Matthew Modine, Brett Gelman, and Priah Ferguson who came out to support the team behind ‘The First Shadow’. This production transitioned from a successful run in London’s West End.
Another notable absence was original series actress Sadie Sink, who did manage to attend a preview of ‘The First Shadow’ on Monday, her day off from her performance in ‘John Proctor Is the Villain’, directed by Danya Taymor and playwright Kimberly Belflower, just across the street at Broadway’s Booth Theatre.
According to ‘People’, Brown portrayed the central character in the 2020 film Enola Holmes, which tells the tale of Sherlock Holmes’ adventurous younger sister, along with its 2022 sequel.
Beyond her work on ‘Stranger Things’, she has been involved in several Netflix projects, including last year's ‘Damsel’ and ‘The Electric State’ released this March. ‘Enola Holmes 3’ will feature Henry Cavill reprising his role as Sherlock Holmes, Helena Bonham Carter as matriarch Eudoria Holmes, Himesh Patel as Dr. Watson, Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Mira Troy, and Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury, among others.
Director Philip Barantini leads the sequel, adapted by Jack Thorne from Nancy Springer’s book series, similar to the previous films. Barantini and Thorne previously collaborated on the Netflix success ‘Adolescence’.
“Adventure pursues detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where her personal and professional aspirations entangle in a case more complex and perilous than any she's encountered,” states the official synopsis.
It is anticipated that ‘Stranger Things season 5’ will debut sometime in 2025.
