Mumbai, June 1 (NationPress) Miss Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri, who has been crowned the victor of the 72nd Miss World Pageant, shared her enthusiasm for Bollywood star Alia Bhatt in the film “Gangubai Kathiawadi”. She also expressed her admiration for former titleholders Priyanka Chopra and Manushi Chhillar.
When discussing her favorite Indian Miss World, Chuangsri told IANS: “That’s a tough one! I actually met one of my favorites today—Manushi Chhillar. I also truly admire Priyanka Chopra. I love both of them so much.”
She elaborated on her love for Bollywood actresses and Indian films.
“I know Alia Bhatt! I saw her in Gangubai Kathiawadi—oh my God, I loved it. It was so inspiring. I also know Baahubali! I haven't watched it yet, but I’ve been to Ramoji Film City, and I promised myself I’d watch it after the competition. So next time we meet, I’ll give you my review,” she stated.
After receiving her crown, the beauty queen called it the “best day” of her life.
“It marks a significant milestone—not just for me personally, but also for my Beauty with a Purpose project and the people of Thailand. I’m incredibly proud, especially now that Thailand is acknowledged on the Miss World stage.”
“This is our very first Miss World crown, and we’ve waited for over seventy years for it. I genuinely believe my people are as proud as I am.”
She emphasized the hard work put into winning.
“I wouldn’t say it was difficult in a negative way, because when something truly matters to your heart, the effort becomes meaningful. But yes, honestly, it wasn’t easy to claim a title like Miss World. That’s why this victory holds such significance, especially being the first crown for Thailand.”
While in India, she was asked if she had the chance to try any Indian cuisine or cultural attire, to which Chuangsri replied: “Yes, I did! I had the pleasure of wearing a saree and also enjoyed some Indian cuisine—it was wonderful.”
On the topic of sustaining success post-victory, she remarked: “That’s something people often contemplate—how to maintain fame or success within just one year of your reign. However, I believe it’s not solely about that year. It’s about the impact you create.”
“If you develop something meaningful, something that resonates with lives, then your legacy endures long after you pass the crown. For me, that embodies the true essence of success.”
When asked about similarities between the Thai and Indian film industries, the beauty queen nodded and affirmed.
“The Thai film industry is also quite prominent. Thai people enjoy movies and TV series, and our teams—actors, actresses, behind-the-scenes professionals—are remarkably talented. We aspire to produce more high-quality content for the world to appreciate,” she explained.
She is now contemplating acting in Thai dramas or Hindi series.
“Absolutely! I grew up watching Thai dramas—they’re very dear to my heart. It would be an amazing opportunity to be part of that world, whether it’s Thai or Hindi content,” she expressed.
