What the Trailer Reveals

The trailer opens with wedding guests puzzling over why the newlyweds have not switched off the light in their room — setting the tone for an evening of escalating comic chaos. The bride is advised not to speak first, while the bridegroom is instructed to drink coffee, with a parade of relatives and well-wishers each adding their own brand of unsolicited counsel.

Beyond the comedy, the trailer signals that Modha Rathiri carries a more substantive undercurrent. A voiceover poses the question: 'Did you think that marriage is a kind of a game where you could hit restart and start all over again whenever you wish?' Actor Chetan, playing a priest in the film, offers a definition of love: 'Even when you get sick of each other, you both must be able to bear one another.' He also observes, 'Half the people in this village don't know why they are getting married?' The trailer further hints at a secret held by one family that the other side remains unaware of.

Cast and Characters

Rishikanth makes his debut as a leading man through this film, playing a character named Maruthanayagam. Anishma Anilkumar, recognised for her performances in Sirai and Youth, plays the female lead as a character named Muthuselvi. The supporting cast includes Chetan, A. Venkatesh, Bucks, Abdool Lee, Shelly Kishore, Sangeetha Balan, Banupriya, Sumithra Devi L., Varshini Karmegham, Karthikeyan, Velan, and Kowshik Kabilan, among others.

Producer Naveen Yerneni of Mythri Movie Makers said the project won him over at the first narration: 'The very first narration made us laugh, smile and imagine how audiences would react inside a theatre. That's when we knew this story deserved to be made. Modha Rathiri has everything we enjoy as movie lovers: humour, emotions, relatable characters and endless entertainment.'

Director Raja Karuppasamy expressed gratitude to his producers and crew: 'I couldn't have asked for a better beginning to my journey as a filmmaker. More than anything else, I hope audiences walk out of theatres smiling, laughing and talking about these characters long after the film ends.'
