Tamil rural comedy Modha Rathiri, directed by Raja Karuppasamy and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, has unveiled the characters played by actors Chethan and Bucks ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on 21 August 2025. The film stars Rishikanth and Anishma Anilkumar in the lead roles.

Character Reveals

The production house took to its social media handles to introduce the two supporting characters. Chethan plays 'Poosari', described as 'God's closest neighbour,' while comedian Bucks takes on the role of 'Saravanan Chitappa', introduced with the caption 'Warning: Danger Ahead!' The announcements were accompanied by character look posters and tagged under the hashtag #MythriTamil03.

Earlier, the makers had confirmed that lead actress Anishma Anilkumar plays a character named Muthuselvi and actor Rishikanth portrays Maruthanayagam.

What the Film Is About

According to sources close to the production, Modha Rathiri revolves around an ordinary village wedding that spirals into an extraordinary chain of hilarious misunderstandings, unexpected twists, and heartwarming emotions — all unfolding over the course of a single night. The one-night premise is designed to keep the comedy escalating from one surprise to the next.

Notably, Rishikanth is making his debut as a lead hero through this film. Anishma Anilkumar, who earned critical appreciation for her performances in Sirai and Youth, headlines the female lead.

The ensemble cast includes Chetan, A. Venkatesh, Bucks, Abdool Lee, Shelly Kishore, Sangeetha Balan, Banupriya, Sumithra Devi L., Varshini Karmegham, Karthikeyan, Velan, and Kowshik Kabilan, among others.

On the technical side, Surendran Paranjothi handles cinematography, Ashok Arjunan is the editor, and Bharath Sankar has composed the music. Costumes are designed by Poornima Ramaswamy, with art direction by A. Balumahendra.
