Mumbai, July 8 (NationPress) Filmmaker Mohit Suri is ecstatic about discovering debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. He expressed that without finding such talented actors, he would not have proceeded with his forthcoming film “Saiyaara”.
Mohit stated: “I wouldn’t have made Saiyaara if I hadn’t found formidable actors like Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.”
“Initially, I was considering different projects until I crossed paths with Yash Raj Films, which was in search of a youthful love narrative and was nurturing Ahaan and Aneet for this opportunity.”
He emphasized the necessity for convincing performances from newcomers in a romantic film, as it adds emotional layers that resonate with audiences. “Newcomers aren’t expected to perform at the levels of Ranbir Kapoor or Alia Bhatt, but they must be capable of holding their ground on screen. I hadn’t encountered debutants with the necessary acting prowess, nor did I find the vulnerability in the emerging talent, leading me to abandon the idea of casting newcomers for this script,” Suri explained.
The director mentioned that he had shifted his focus to established faces for commercial viability.
“The writing process for Saiyaara took longer than anticipated. Upon meeting YRF and watching Ahaan and Aneet’s auditions, I decided to invest time with them to assess their acting abilities, intellect, and emotional depth,” Suri revealed.
He was impressed to discover two completely fresh talents who possess the capability to embrace a vision.
“In today’s landscape, it’s quite rare and refreshing to be crafting a love story with newcomers! I’m grateful to have found Ahaan and Aneet, as I’m realizing this story in its intended form,” he added.
