Mumbai, Nov 4 (NationPress) Actress Mona Lisa is embarking on an audacious new journey with the short drama, ‘Zindagi Ka U-Turn’, which she describes as “a pivotal moment” in her career.

Reflecting on her experience with ‘Zindagi Ka U-Turn’, Mona Lisa expressed, “I had longed to work on a vertical series, so when the opportunity arose, I was immediately interested. This format is uncharted territory for me, and I believe it represents the future of entertainment. With everyone owning a mobile device, quick, captivating content is highly sought after during commutes or waiting periods.”

She continued: “Short micro-dramas are compelling because they capture your attention right away. I personally enjoy watching them!”

In the forthcoming Pocket TV production, Mona Lisa portrays Sonam Verma, an ambitious wife thriving at the peak of her career, a woman who commands presence in any room.

The narrative centers around a middle-aged street vendor whose life is turned upside down by his wife's betrayal, only for fate to offer an unexpected twist when he inherits a billion-dollar empire.

She stated: “This project felt like a pivotal moment in my career, not just because I explored a unique character, but also due to the gripping storyline. Once audiences start watching Zindagi Ka U-Turn, even for a mere 30 or 60 seconds, they’ll be enthralled. It’s replete with surprises.”

The actress remarked that everything aligned positively, making her decision to participate feel instinctive.

“Overall, my experience was extraordinary. Having worked in films, television serials, and reality shows, this felt like venturing into a completely new genre. The five-day shoot was genuinely unforgettable; the first experience always holds a special significance.”

Discussing her character's uniqueness, Mona Lisa revealed: “Throughout my career, I’ve aimed to portray diverse roles. Transitioning to television introduced me to a different realm, even playing a supernatural character.”

However, this role is unlike any she has undertaken before.

“In this narrative, my character is arrogant, with a tumultuous relationship with her husband. While embodying this role, I realized, ‘Oh my God, I’m nothing like this in real life!’ But that’s the magic of acting—living lives so different from your own. I’m grateful for this chance.”

“My director and creative team guided me excellently, clarifying every aspect of the story. Later, they mentioned they hadn’t anticipated my portrayal being so convincing, as it’s always challenging to depict someone so contrary to your true self.”

“Indeed, this was a challenge for me, and I’m exhilarated I could embrace it. I constantly seek new roles, and Pocket TV has provided just that. I’m incredibly excited and happy.”

On preparing for this role, Mona Lisa explained that her primary focus was to convey her character’s arrogance and dominating nature, particularly towards her husband.

“During script readings, my director, Naveen ji, assisted me in grasping the tone; he wanted it loud and assertive. I envisioned that personality and practiced embodying her demeanor.”

She also mentioned that her co-star Ruslaan Mumtaz, who plays her husband Raghav, is depicted as a simple man, “while I portray this sophisticated, commanding woman. That contrast significantly aided my performance. The script was so robust and engaging that it allowed my portrayal to flow seamlessly.”
