Chennai, Jan 27 (NationPress) One of the leading directors in Tamil cinema, Mysskin, has made serious allegations that he was coerced into selling the television rights of his acclaimed film ‘Onnayum Aattukkuttiyum’ for a paltry Rs 75 lakhs.

During the trailer launch of ‘Bad Girl’, Mysskin addressed various subjects and took a moment to express remorse for certain comments made at a previous event.

He stated, “I produced ‘Onnayum Aattukkuttiyum’. They prevented its release on the first day. This is unknown to many. It was only released the following night.”

Mysskin further revealed that ten days post-release, several individuals approached him to acquire the television rights.

“A prominent director, who is a friend of mine, assured me he could secure a large sum for the film and escorted me to a location. Inside a spacious room, there were 20 individuals present. They demanded, ‘Transfer the television rights of this film to us for 75 lakhs,’” he recounted. “I responded, ‘Sir, I worked hard to create this film. It deserves at least Rs Two crore for its television rights.’ Despite my pleas, they insisted they couldn’t offer that amount,” Mysskin explained.

“It was then I understood that they had brought along 20 thugs who intimidated me into signing (the contract). They handed me Rs 75 lakhs. That film has aired on that channel an astonishing 80 times. I took the cheque, ripped it up in front of them, and declared, ‘When I arrived in Chennai, I had nothing but a blank sheet of paper and a pencil. I hail from a very humble background.’ I assured them, ‘I will surely make a comeback through my diligence,’” Mysskin recounted.

The director and actor added, “Out of the group that was present then, four individuals have since passed away. The one who deceived me is a well-known director and is still active today. I continue to face betrayals at every turn.”
