Mumbai, March 5 (NationPress) In anticipation of Women’s Day, Bollywood star Nargis Fakhri has shared her thoughts on the conflicting messages within the entertainment industry regarding equality and the objectification of women.
“The entertainment sector often walks a tightrope between honoring beauty and, sadly, objectifying individuals. At its finest, cinema can highlight a variety of stories, talents, and experiences, while also celebrating beauty in numerous forms,” Nargis stated in an interview with IANS.
“Yet, the truth is that beauty, particularly for women, can sometimes be turned into a commodity, reduced to a shallow ideal. It's essential to recognize that both genders can be objectified, although it may seem that women face this challenge more often.”
Nargis personally navigates this landscape by concentrating on her craft.
“I realize that part of the entertainment field involves presenting attractive people, but I always set firm boundaries for myself. It's about remaining true to my principles, executing my work with integrity, and ensuring that I am valued for my skills and contributions beyond my looks,” she explained.
She continued: “In the end, I strive to foster an environment where we can celebrate beauty without sacrificing one’s dignity, and I approach my role in the industry with that perspective.”
