Nasser Appeals to Rajendra Prasad: Offer a Sincere Apology!
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chennai, March 12 (NationPress) Nasser, the President of the South Indian Artistes' Association, called on Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad to offer a sincere apology for a disrespectful remark he made about the esteemed Tamil actor and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M G Ramachandran (MGR).
During a recent event, while lauding the contributions of veteran Telugu actor Kanta Rao, Rajendra Prasad made a statement that belittled the legendary MGR.
Nasser's request was communicated through a short video clip, shortly after actor Vishal expressed his outrage regarding Rajendra Prasad's comments on the late Chief Minister.
In his video address to Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Nasser stated, "My dear friend and colleague, I just watched a video where you celebrated the talent of the remarkable actor Kanta Rao. That's truly commendable. It’s a beautiful gesture for one actor to honor another's craft."
However, Nasser expressed his disappointment when Rajendra Prasad made a statement comparing Kanta Rao to the great MGR.
"This is hurtful to every Tamilian. Not just Tamilians, but many of your peers have conveyed their distress through audio messages. The Telugu and Tamil film industries share a rich history of collaboration, with numerous directors, actors, musicians, cinematographers, and writers crossing over between the two," Nasser remarked.
He continued, "MGR Garu was more than just an actor or an entertainer; he was a prominent leader who guided us for over a decade. He played a pivotal role when the legendary NTR Garu founded a political party. Our admiration for him transcends politics. I need not elaborate more on this, my dear friend. However, I implore you, not merely in my capacity as President of the South Indian Actors' Association, but as a fellow member of the film community, to offer a heartfelt apology. I trust you will see the merit in this. Thank you, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Garu."
