Hyderabad, Jan 9 (NationPress) The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given the green light to director Maari's highly anticipated romantic comedy, 'Anaganaga Oka Raju', starring Naveen Polishetty and Meenakshi Chaudhary in pivotal roles, allowing it to be released with a U/A certificate.
On Friday, production house Sithara Entertainments took to their X timeline, announcing, "#AnaganagaOkaRaju Certified U/A. Where laughter has no age limit. #AOR In Cinemas on Jan 14th. #AORonJan14th Star Entertainer @NaveenPolishety @Meenakshiioffl #Maari."
The film is set to premiere during the festival of Sankranthi on January 14 this year.
Sparking interest since its announcement in January 2022, the film's title was revealed alongside a teaser, which also showcased the first look of Naveen Polishetty, confirming its comedic nature.
Naveen Polishetty portrays the character Raju, a self-important and arrogant bridegroom preparing for his wedding.
Fans have been looking forward to the film, although there have been numerous changes within the production team over time.
The filmmakers previously released a comedic teaser, which they dubbed a 'Pre-wedding video'.
This teaser featured wedding guests eager to dine from golden plates. Just as a guest reaches for a sweet Kaju Kathili, a supervisor snatches it away, insisting that everything at Raju's wedding must be gold, despite the guest's willingness to settle for silver foil. The humor escalates with Raju engaging in a comical conversation with industrialist Mukesh Ambani about his son's wedding.
Initially, the teaser hinted at a 2025 release date, but it was later rescheduled to January 14, 2026.
Directed by Maari, the film features cinematography by J Yuvraj and music composed by Mickey J Meyer. It is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.
