Chennai, Mar 6 (NationPress) Producer Ishari K Ganesh, from Vels Film International, has revealed that actress Nayanthara has been observing a fast for nearly a month in preparation for her role as the goddess in the film Mookuthi Amman 2.
During the pooja event marking the film's launch, producer Ishari K Ganesh shared, “I must highlight Nayanthara madam’s dedication. She has been fasting for almost a month now, similar to her commitment before portraying Amman in the first installment of Mookuthi Amman. She is thrilled about this character and the storyline.”
Ganesh recounted that five years ago, when actor R J Balaji proposed the idea of Mookuthi Amman, he immediately supported it as the deity holds significance for their family.
“When the time came to cast the main role of Mookuthi Amman, our only choice was Nayanthara. Upon approaching her, she eagerly accepted the role. The film successfully met audience expectations,” remarked Ishari K Ganesh.
“Following the success of that film, I hoped for another project centered on Goddess Amman, but none materialized. I envisioned a pan-Indian film about Mookuthi Amman and thought, why not create a sequel? After discussing this with my team, we determined that Sundar C, known as the Franchise King, would be the ideal director for this sequel,” Ganesh stated.
He mentioned that upon reaching out to director Sundar C, he requested time to develop the project. However, within just a month, Sundar presented a script to Ganesh.
Ganesh noted that Sundar C would contact Nayanthara for her availability for the film. When discussing the film's budget, Sundar C indicated that it should be produced on a pan-Indian scale, suggesting a significant investment. “When I inquired about the estimated budget, he gestured three fingers, implying it would exceed 100 crores. I consented,” added the producer, emphasizing that he had entrusted the entire venture to Sundar C.
On this occasion, Sundar C announced the film's cast, which includes Regina Cassandra, Kannada star Duniya Vijay, Yogi Babu, Singam Puli, Gopi Amarnath, Abhinaya, Iniya, Mynaa Nandini, Swaminathan, and Ajay Ghosh, among others. The film's music will be composed by actor and music director Hip Hop Tamizha.
