Chennai, Dec 30 (NationPress) The team behind director Sundar C's highly anticipated spiritual thriller 'Mookuthi Amman 2', starring actress Nayanthara in the principal role, officially announced the conclusion of filming on Tuesday.
Vels Film International, the studio responsible for the film's production, shared a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video on their X timeline, showcasing clips of the cast and their insights about the movie.
The BTS footage concluded with director Sundar C confirming that the filming wrap-up occurred on Tuesday evening.
In their post, Vels Film International stated, "Capturing the magic and dedication behind the scenes of Sundar C’s #MookuthiAmman2. A #SundarC Mega Divine Entertainer."
Actress Urvasi mentioned in the BTS video that the sequel would not connect to the first installment, which had achieved blockbuster status. She expressed that the shooting period felt remarkably swift.
Director Sundar C shared that more than 2000 technicians dedicated over six months to this project, leading to a successful conclusion today. Other cast members, including Regina Cassandra, Kannada actor Duniya Vijay, Singam Puli, and Yogi Babu, also shared their thoughts in the clip. The video culminated in a cake-cutting ceremony celebrating the end of filming.
Excitement among fans has been palpable since the film's announcement.
It is noteworthy that producer Ishari K Ganesh earlier revealed that Nayanthara, who portrays the goddess in the film, had been fasting for a month to prepare for her role.
During a pooja event to celebrate the film's launch in March, Ishari K Ganesh mentioned, “I must highlight Nayanthara madam. She has been on a fast for nearly a month, just like she did before taking on the character of Amman in the first part of Mookuthi Amman. She is thrilled about this role and the storyline.”
Ganesh recounted that five years prior, when actor R J Balaji approached him about the first film, he readily agreed since 'Mookuthi Amman' is their family deity.
“When it came to casting the titular role of Mookuthi Amman, Nayanthara was the obvious choice. She accepted our proposal eagerly, and the film met the audience's expectations,” Ishari K Ganesh stated.
“After the success of that film, I had been anticipating another project featuring Goddess Amman, but none materialized. I envisioned a pan-Indian film on Goddess Mookuthi Amman, leading to the decision to create a sequel. After discussing this with my team, we concluded that Sundar C, known as the Franchise King, would be the ideal director for this second part,” Ishari K Ganesh added.
