Chennai, Feb 17 (NationPress) The talented actress and producer Nayanthara has received the prestigious State Film award for Best Actress from the Tamil Nadu government for her remarkable role in the film 'Aramm' in 2017. She expressed her heartfelt appreciation in a recent post, thanking the government for this recognition.

On her Instagram, she shared images of herself with the three State Awards and wrote, "I am incredibly grateful to the Government of Tamil Nadu for recognizing my work in 'Aramm'. I am also thankful for the State Awards for 'Netrikann' and 'Koozhangal' from our production house @therowdypictures. Receiving three State Awards is a true blessing!"

The first award was for her performance, while the other two were earned through her production efforts.

For those unfamiliar, 'Aramm' is an intense thriller directed by the renowned Gopi Nainar. The narrative focuses on a district collector's quest to save a child who accidentally falls into a borewell.

The film sheds light on the struggles faced by rural communities in India, emphasizing their challenges in accessing basic needs due to bureaucratic issues and corruption. In 'Aramm', Nayanthara portrays the character of district collector Mathivathani.

Nayanthara's upcoming projects are generating considerable excitement, particularly her film 'Patriot', directed by Mahesh Narayanan, which is one of the most anticipated thrillers of the year.

'Patriot' features Malayalam cinema icons Mammootty and Mohanlal, along with top actors like Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Revathy.

It’s noteworthy that Mohanlal and Mammootty will be appearing together on screen for the first time in 18 years. The film is set for a global release on April 23 this year.

A teaser released last year heightened audience anticipation, beginning with a voiceover that stated, "I remember a time when this nation was governed by these two. Together. What they earned wasn't just followers, but faith and trust."

We glimpse a series of captivating yet intense scenes, with Mammootty declaring, "They will introduce social scores to people," while Mohanlal, playing an army general, asserts, "There are three of us. Do you believe you can stop us?"

The teaser also hints at a program called Periscope, featuring Kunchacko Boban as Daniel.

Nayanthara is heard inquiring, "Is this program related to the student laptop scheme? Is it akin to Periscope?" Another voice questions, "Is this program monitoring them secretly?" The teaser concludes with Mammootty prompting someone to finish the phrase, "Great Indian traitor... or Patriot."
