Singer Neha Kakkar has revealed that her parents and brother Tony Kakkar gave their instant blessing for her marriage to singer Rohanpreet Singh after spending just 15–20 minutes with him — a whirlwind family verdict that she says still feels surreal. Neha made the disclosure on the upcoming episode of the show 'Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar', hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal.

The Family's Snap Decision

Neha recalled telling her brother Tony that she liked Rohanpreet, after which the family decided to travel to Punjab to meet him in person. After a brief private conversation lasting no more than 15–20 minutes, they emerged with an unequivocal verdict.

'When they came out of the room, they said, If you want to get married, marry only Rohan. My mom, dad and Tony bhai's words are something we still remember. From our side, it was a clear yes, without any doubt,' Neha said on the show.

She acknowledged that the speed of events could have seemed reckless to outsiders. 'Many people could have felt it was childish to take such a big decision so quickly,' she admitted, adding that she herself felt it was all destined.

How 'Nehu Da Vyah' Brought Them Together

Neha traced the origin of the relationship to the COVID-19 lockdown, when she decided to write and record a song out of sheer boredom. That song, 'Nehu Da Vyah', turned out to be prophetic in ways she never anticipated.

'While writing 'Nehu Da Vyah', I had no idea that I was actually writing my own life story,' she said. The lyrics, which described a daughter-in-law being introduced to a groom's family, came true almost line for line.

When the team began searching for a male lead for the music video, Neha spotted Rohanpreet Singh on her social media Explore page. 'He's so cute,' she recalled saying, after which her team reached out to him.

Rohanpreet's First Reaction

Rohanpreet, who also appeared on the show, recalled his disbelief when he received the call. 'Where is Neha Kakkar and where am I?' he said, describing his initial reaction as scepticism that it might be a prank. He agreed to go nonetheless, and the moment he opened the door and saw Neha, he said he knew instantly: 'That's it, I'm done for.'

The Proposal and the Wedding

Neha later revealed that during the music video shoot itself, Rohanpreet asked her 'Will you marry me?' — and just two months later, they were married in real life. 'He was also the one who proposed to me,' she said.

The couple tied the knot in October 2020 in Delhi following a brief courtship. Recently, reports of trouble in their relationship surfaced, though neither Neha nor Rohanpreet has confirmed or denied the speculation. The new episode of 'Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar' is expected to offer the couple's most candid public account of their love story to date.
