Actor Nithiin on Saturday, 7 November unveiled his look as the young Krishna from the upcoming Telugu film 'Alias Rukmini', directed by Murali Kanth Devasoth, sending fans into a frenzy ahead of the film's worldwide theatrical release on 4 December. The reveal came via a video clip that offers a glimpse into Krishna's life before the arrival of the titular character, Rukmini.

The Young Krishna Reveal

Sharing the video on his X (formerly Twitter) timeline, Nithiin wrote: 'Every love story has a 'before'. Young Krishna. A dreamer. A whole new me. Reintroducing Krishna from #AliasRukmini. In cinemas worldwide December 4th.' The clip introduces Nithiin in a noticeably younger avatar, establishing the backstory of his character well before Rukmini enters his life.

The video opens with director Murali Kanth Devasoth conversing with actress Aafiya Sayed, who plays Rukmini in the film. The director describes the significance of the location they are seated at — the very place that shaped Krishna as a person. He then poses a question to Aafiya: would she want to see how Krishna looked 10 years ago? When she says yes, a visibly younger Nithiin steps into frame, completing the reveal.

Production Update and Shoot Schedule

The film wrapped its first shooting schedule in September this year, reportedly spanning 10 days. According to sources close to the unit, the schedule covered crucial scenes involving the lead cast. Alongside Nithiin, actors Sai Kumar, Harsha Vardhan, and several other prominent names participated in the shoot.

'Alias Rukmini' is being presented by celebrated Telugu actor Nani and produced by Deepthi Ganta. It is co-directed by Ramana Madhavaram.

Title Teaser and Early Buzz

The film had already generated considerable excitement when its title teaser dropped earlier. The teaser opened with a voiceover of director Murali in conversation with Nani, setting up the film's premise. Nithiin's character Krishna is introduced as a writer of books on sensual themes — only for Nani to point out that all the books were authored by someone named Rukmini. When Nani asks 'Who is this Rukmini?', it is a half-asleep Nithiin who delivers the punchline: 'Rukmini is my wife.' Nani's in-teaser response — 'I love this script. When do we start to shoot?' — became an instant talking point among fans.
