Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, April 8 (NationPress) Renowned singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo is gearing up to unveil the lead single from her upcoming third studio album, 'Drop Dead', scheduled for release on April 17, 2026. The announcement was made on her Instagram, featuring an image of her blowing a bubble with gum, with the title of the single creatively stitched onto her shirt.
Just last week, Rodrigo revealed that her third full-length album, 'You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love', is set to launch on June 12, according to Variety.
She collaborated with producer Dan Nigro on this album, marking their third joint project following her critically acclaimed albums, 'Sour' and 'Guts'.
While details about the album remain under wraps, Rodrigo hinted at its themes in a recent cover story for British Vogue, describing it as a collection of “sad love songs”.
She mentioned, “It was a creative challenge to write from a joyful place. When you’re experiencing that connection with someone or feeling truly happy, you’re not preoccupied with crafting bittersweet poetry.”
Previously, Rodrigo expressed her desire to “half move” to the UK. Currently residing in Los Angeles, the 23-year-old artist feels a strong connection to Britain. She reminisced about having had “some first kisses” at the Chiltern Firehouse, a luxury hotel located in Marylebone, London, as reported by Female First UK.
In her interview with British Vogue, she commented, “I just think British people are really cool; they respect your space. I adore everything about England—the culture and the people. Someday, I hope to split my time here.”
When asked about her favorite spots in London, the multi-talented artist shared, “I really enjoy visiting The Fat Badger. It’s been a blast since the Chiltern Firehouse burned down. I’ve definitely had some first kisses there.”
Olivia spent considerable time in London while working on her third studio album, OR3. She stated, “I’ve drawn a lot of inspiration from my time in London. I’ve spent ample time here during the album’s creation, resulting in several tracks that reflect my experiences in this city.” The upcoming album promises to showcase Olivia’s ability to “bare my soul through songwriting”, and she hopes it reveals a “different side of me.”
