Actress Palak Tiwari is set to debut on OTT with the upcoming series 'Lukkhe', where she plays Sanober, a character she describes as a spiritual continuation of her mother Shweta Tiwari's iconic role from Kasutii Zindagii Kay. In interviews ahead of the 8 May premiere on Prime Video, Palak has opened up about how she channelled her mother's expressive acting style while carving her own path in the character.

Drawing from a legendary performer

Palak's character Sanober navigates vulnerability, love, and inner conflict within a high-stakes, music-led narrative. The actress revealed that inhabiting this emotionally raw role felt like paying tribute to her mother's work. "Sanober is my gift to my mother's iconic character, Prerna from Kasutii Zindagii Kay. In many ways, Sanober is Prerna's true daughter because of how deeply emotional and expressive she is," Palak said.

The weight of legacy

Palak acknowledged the added pressure of being the daughter of one of Indian television's most celebrated performers. "Of course, it comes with added pressure because she is one of the most expressive performers in my opinion," the actress noted. However, rather than viewing this as a constraint, she has used it as a creative anchor, grounding Sanober in the same emotional authenticity that defined Shweta Tiwari's breakout television roles.

Mentorship and finding her own voice

Shweta Tiwari has reportedly guided her daughter through the production, offering counsel rooted in her three decades of screen experience. "My mom has always told me that if you can make the audience feel, especially make them cry, everything else falls into place," Palak shared. Yet Shweta has also encouraged independence: "She also believes in letting me find my own way as an actor."

A piece of advice that stayed with Palak during filming was particularly telling. "Don't try to win every scene," her mother advised. "Every scene has its own hero. Sometimes it will be you, and sometimes it won't, and that's completely okay. Let the other actor shine, because that's what ultimately makes the scene work." Palak credited this perspective with shaping her approach to ensemble scenes in 'Lukkhe'.

'Lukkhe' features Raashii Khanna, King, Palak Tiwari, Lakshvir Singh Saran, and Shivankit Singh Parihar in lead roles, alongside Nakul Roshan Sahdev, Yograj Singh, and Ayesha Raza Mishra in pivotal supporting parts. The series is produced by Vipul D. Shah and Rajesh Bahl under Optimystix Entertainment and White Guerrilla LLP, with Himank Gaur directing. It is created and executive produced by Deobjit Das Purkayastha and Agrim Joshi.
