Mumbai, Oct 3 (NationPress) Actress Patralekhaa has announced her intention to start work on her upcoming project this December.
In an exclusive statement shared with IANS, the ‘Phule’ actress conveyed her eagerness to embrace a new role. Reflecting on the overwhelming response to Phule, Patralekhaa expressed, “I’m immensely thankful for all the affection I’ve received since Phule. It’s a film that occupies a significant place in my heart.”
“I’ve been receiving some remarkable scripts and thrilling opportunities lately, and I’m taking the time to evaluate everything. There’s much to anticipate, and I’ll commence work on my next project this December. My sincere gratitude to everyone who has placed their faith in me and supported my journey,” she continued.
Patralekhaa recently took on the role of Savitri Bai Phule in the film, “Phule.” Directed by Ananth Mahadevan, the film also featured Pratik Gandhi as Jyotirao Phule, and was released in theatres on April 11, coinciding with the 197th birth anniversary of Mahatma Phule.
Earlier, during an interview with IANS, the actress discussed the emotional journey of portraying Savitribai Phule in the biopic “Phule.” She described the experience as transformative and deeply motivating, as she endeavored to encapsulate Savitribai Phule’s struggles, strength, and legacy on screen.
She shared, “My intentions became clear the moment I was approached for the role. When I first conversed with Anand sir, he provided me with the script, which was quite substantial. I remember calling him and saying, 'Sir, this script is enormous. I have so much to read!' But he reassured me that it was merely the first draft and that it would be refined. After a year and a half, I received the final script, which was exquisitely written. It was a human drama, and I couldn't refuse. From that point, it felt like a journey, and I simply knew I had to be part of it.”
