Mumbai, Oct 7 (NationPress) As the assembly elections draw near, the political scene in Bihar is experiencing significant upheaval. Amidst the NDA's struggle against opposition forces, actor-politician Pawan Singh, having recently rejoined the NDA, finds himself entangled in a delicate situation.
Following a dramatic incident at his home where his wife, Jyoti Singh, went live on Instagram to accuse him of harassment and adultery, Pawan has come forward to clarify his stance.
On Monday, he posted a lengthy message on Instagram in Hindi addressing the claims made by his wife. He also accused her of attempting to leverage their relationship for political gain.
He stated, “I believe one thing in life: the public is my God. Would I ever want to hurt the sentiments of those who have supported me? Jyoti Singh, is it not true that you visited my home yesterday morning, where I welcomed you with respect and we engaged in conversation for around 1.5 hours?”
Pawan further elaborated that his wife was pressuring him to allow her to run for office, a decision he believes is beyond his jurisdiction. He remarked, “Your sole demand is for me to ensure your candidacy, which is beyond my capability.”
“A misunderstanding has circulated that I summoned the police, but the reality is that they were present since morning to ensure that everything transpired under their watch, preventing any untoward incidents from your associates or anyone else,” he clarified.
Previously, Pawan Singh had met with senior BJP officials, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda, in Delhi, rejoining the party last week.
The forthcoming election in Bihar pertains to the 18th Legislative Assembly, contested across 243 seats, scheduled in two phases: November 6 and November 11, 2025. The first phase encompasses 121 constituencies, while the second phase includes 122.
