Patna, Oct 11 (NationPress) Bhojpuri star and BJP figure Pawan Singh has clarified his political intentions, stating that he will not be participating in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. In a recent post on his social media account X, Singh expressed, "I, Pawan Singh, want to inform my Bhojpuri community that my involvement with the party was never aimed at contesting the Bihar Assembly elections, and I have no plans to do so. I will continue to be a dedicated soldier of the party."
This announcement follows a meeting between his wife, Jyoti Singh, and political strategist Prashant Kishor at his residence in Sheikhpura House, Patna, which ignited rumors regarding their political affiliations.
However, Jyoti Singh later confirmed that her visit was not politically motivated. "I am not here to run for any election or to obtain a ticket. The injustices I have faced should not befall any other woman. I aspire to be the voice for women who experience injustice," she conveyed to the media on Friday.
Her assertion has been interpreted as a powerful statement advocating for women’s rights and social justice.
The couple’s remarks have effectively dispelled any notions of Pawan Singh's candidacy, affirming their commitment to community service over political pursuits. Pawan Singh reasserted that while he remains loyal to his party and community, he has no intention of entering the political fray.
Political analysts suggest that this declaration brings a sense of stability to the political landscape in Bihar, as Singh's potential candidacy had been a topic of considerable discussion among the media and political commentators.
His stance, they believe, suggests that his influence will be rooted in cultural and community matters, rather than direct political involvement.
Pawan Singh, widely recognized as a leading figure in Bhojpuri cinema, possesses a solid following in the Shahabad region of Bihar. He previously contested in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Karakat Lok Sabha seat but was defeated by Rajaram Singh Kushwaha of CPI-ML.
