Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Oct 9 (NationPress) Actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt reminisced about the unforgettable experiences during the filming of the 1998 movie Dushman in South Africa, recounting a comical incident involving Sanjay Dutt and a hotel bartender.
During a chat with Tanuja Chandra, the director of Dushman, on her talk show The Pooja Bhatt Show, Pooja shared: “We had an incredible time in South Africa, staying at the Victoria hotel in Cape Town. I believe Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) had been there prior, filming Kartoos with my father.”
She continued: “Upon entering the lobby, the bartender spotted us and immediately ducked for cover. Naturally, I was curious and asked why he was hiding from us.”
Pooja recounted the bartender's response: “He said, ‘Last time, we had to order extra cases of alcohol since we ran out.’”
She also remembered a night before an early shoot when Sanjay was reluctant to let the evening end. “I recall a night where we had an early call time, and you kept saying, ‘Everyone should head to bed, we need to wake up early.’ However, Sanju didn’t want the night to conclude, and I had my own plans.”
“I had already arranged to attend a nearby rave... You went upstairs, and Sanju was lingering in the hallway. You told him, ‘Sanjay Dutt, go to sleep.’ He came to your room for a chat.”
Pooja shared that she was in the adjacent room, trying to eavesdrop to see if Sanjay had left her room. “I approached the door to listen, and suddenly, the door swung open, and I stumbled into your room while you were scolding him, then burst into laughter.”
“He remarked, ‘Oh, you’re trying to snoop and listen.’ I denied it. You then told me what transpired inside, where he was sitting, chatting with you, and suddenly he exclaimed, ‘Pooji!’ It was as if he had a sixth sense, and he got up to open the door.”
“That marked the end of my rave plans. I had to call it a night.”
