Mumbai, October 12 (NationPress) Pratibha Rannta emphasized the importance of self-belief as she received accolades for Laapataa Ladies during the 70th Filmfare Awards.

She was awarded the 'Best Actress: Critics Choice' for her performance in Kiran Rao's film.

Sharing photos with her Black Lady trophy, Pratibha expressed on social media, "Thank you @filmfare and the Filmfare jury for this remarkable honor. The Best Actress Critics’ Choice Award means so much to me. Thank you!"

Reflecting on her journey, she revealed how the industry inspired her to dream big and push boundaries, stating, "Growing up in Shimla, the aspiration to move to Mumbai and join the Hindi film industry seemed distant. That place instilled in me the tenet to always believe in yourself."

She also extended her gratitude to Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan Productions, and the cast and crew of Laapataa Ladies for their support, noting, "A big thanks to everyone for making the shoot enjoyable and memorable. Thank you to the audience for showering me with love and support."

This year, Laapataa Ladies bagged 12 additional Filmfare awards, including 'Best Film', 'Best Director' (Kiran Rao), 'Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male)' (Ravi Kishan), 'Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female)' (Chhaya Kadam), and more.

Director Kiran Rao praised the entire Laapataa Ladies team while accepting the 'Best Film' award, acknowledging, "What a night! The film is not suddenly Laapata tonight. Thank you for embracing this film in your hearts. What more can I say?"
