Mumbai, Feb 17 (NationPress) Bollywood superstar and global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas displayed a wave of emotion as she spoke to students at Harvard Business School during an India Week event. The actress expressed her immense pride in witnessing a crowd of young individuals dressed in sarees and kurtas, sharing her excitement that her daughter Malti Marie has such inspiring figures to look up to.

Priyanka shared her thoughts on social media, stating, “This is how my day began. I was scheduled to deliver a fireside keynote address alongside one of my dearest friends and business partner Anjula Acharia to wrap up India Week at the esteemed Harvard Business School. The theme was 'The India we envision'... I thought it was no big deal, I can handle this, Priyanka.”

However, she later confessed that seeing the audience transformed her perspective.

“Looking out at the audience today, my only thought was - You are the India I envisioned. Let me elaborate,” she continued.

During the session themed “The India We Envision,” Priyanka shared her personal experiences from her own time studying in the US as a teenager.

Reflecting on those years, she recalled feeling like an outsider. “When my 12-year-old self arrived at a high school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and later moved to Newton North High School in Massachusetts during the mid-90s, few looked like me.”

Priyanka expressed her delight and astonishment at seeing so many Desi faces at an international university. She remarked that she never envisioned that decades later, she would be addressing a full auditorium at Harvard. “I would have never guessed that after over 30 years, I would be speaking to you, the future of our culture, our world, on this stage, in this iconic chamber, where numerous extraordinary individuals have spoken, and where many leaders of the world were shaped,” she shared.

“It brought tears to my eyes because this is not what my teenage experience resembled. Yet, I’m incredibly happy that you get to experience it. We stand on the shoulders of previous generations. I am thrilled that my daughter will have all of you to look up to,” she added.

Expressing her pride in seeing representation at one of the world's most prestigious institutions, she wrote, “To witness an auditorium filled with students adorned in sarees and kurtas at HBS (@harvard) in Boston, Massachusetts, where I grew up… to see so many individuals from my community at one of the best schools globally, filled my heart with pride. You are the future.”

Priyanka concluded by thanking the students for their warm reception, also expressing gratitude towards her husband Nick Jonas and daughter Malti Marie for their unwavering support, referring to them as her “forever Valentine’s.”

On the professional front, the actress is preparing for her upcoming Hollywood film “The Bluff,” where she will portray a powerful character. She is also set to star in filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated project, Varanasi, featuring Mahesh Babu alongside her.
