Chennai, Feb 16 (NationPress) Actress Radhika Sarathkumar has expressed her heartfelt appreciation to British Deputy High Commissioner Halima Holland for the generous hospitality and the engaging dialogue they shared. During their conversation, Holland showed a sincere interest in Radhika's forthcoming film, 'Thaai Kelavi', specifically regarding the effort she invested in crafting the appearance of her character.

In her gratitude post on Instagram, Radhika remarked, "I am deeply thankful to British Deputy High Commissioner Ms. Halima Holland and her amazing team for a warm and engaging conversation with Rayane and me."

She continued, "What made the meeting even more memorable was her authentic curiosity about 'Thaai Kelavi'—she took the time to inquire about the entire process behind my character's look, the film's creation, and its journey. It was a meaningful exchange, transitioning seamlessly from discussions on the political landscape and upcoming elections to the artistic realm of cinema. It’s worth noting that Radhika, who stars in the titular role of director Sivakumar Murugesan's highly anticipated comedy-drama 'Thaai Kizhavi', revealed that she first shared her character's images with actor Kamal Haasan, who was thoroughly impressed!

Passion Studios, the film's production company, recently released a video showcasing the concept and techniques used to achieve Radhika's character look. They mentioned that they recognized the need for prosthetic makeup shortly after finalizing the sketches. Radhika disclosed, "The first person I sent the images to was Kamal sir, and he was blown away by it!" She added, "It was fantastic!" describing her character as a true "OG Thug!"

For those unaware, the film is scheduled to premiere on February 20 this year.

A teaser released earlier has heightened anticipation among fans and cinema enthusiasts.

The amusing teaser opens with a young boy being warned by a woman, who states, "Grandma is about to arrive. It’s best to turn off the TV and hurry to school. If Grandma catches you, she will be furious."

Not only is the boy terrified of the elderly woman, named Pavunu Thaayi, but the entire village also fears her, quickly scattering to avoid her path. It becomes clear that Pavunu Thaayi is a merciless moneylender, willing to go to great lengths to collect interest on loans given to villagers. She is a source of dread for the community, with many questioning why noble individuals pass away while she continues to thrive.

Pavunu Thaayi is aware of the villagers' disdain for her, and she reflects, "If I were to die tomorrow, I would make my way to the graveyard and lie down in my grave myself. I am very strong—no diabetes, no blood pressure, and no weaknesses." The teaser concludes with developments that leave the villagers pondering whether the old woman will indeed meet her end...

The film, featuring Radhika as Thaai Kelavi, also includes actors Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu, George Maryan, Muthukumar, and Raichal Rabecca, among others.
