Mumbai, April 21 (NationPress) Acclaimed actor-director Rajat Kapoor, who is garnering favorable reviews for his new streaming film 'Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa', has expressed that the theatre is a far more adaptable medium than cinema.

During a promotional interview with IANS, he remarked that once a film's edit is finalized and presented to the audience, making minor adjustments becomes unfeasible. In contrast, theatre provides artists the opportunity to modify their performances even after a show concludes.

He elaborated, “It's true that in film, you can't alter what has been completed. However, we are fortunate to be involved in theatre, where there is an opportunity for improvement every night. You can continue to refine it, enhancing the experience. Thus, in that regard, we have a second chance.”

Rajat also discussed his interactions with long-time friends and collaborators Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak, both of whom he directed in 'Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa'.

He shared, “Rather than focusing solely on films and film-related discussions, we dedicate a significant amount of time to shows, rehearsals, and touring. Consequently, we engage more frequently in conversations about theatre, analyzing recent performances and preparing for the next one. This is an ongoing process, considering a film often takes three years to complete, and life unfolds in the interim.”

The film 'Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa' signifies his reunion with Rajat Kapoor and Vinay Pathak, who have been friends for over three decades and have frequently collaborated. Yet, this marks their first collaboration in 18 years since 'Mithya'.

Set against the backdrop of a close-knit outstation gathering among friends and family, what begins as light-hearted banter, flowing drinks, and games quickly descends into tension. When Sohrab is discovered brutally murdered late one night, the once jovial atmosphere gives way to suspicion, unmasked grievances, and moral dilemmas.

Produced by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Mithya Talkies, 'Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa' is currently available for streaming on Hindi ZEE5.
